Join us for an extraordinary journey through African-American history with the Homage Exhibit, curated by Nia McAdoo from NXT | CLT's inaugural cohort. This traveling exhibit, Homage: Black Life, History, and Culture, is part of our Juneteenth celebration, inviting you to explore a thoughtfully curated collection of artifacts tracing the trajectory from the dark era of enslavement to the triumphant milestone of Barack Obama's historic presidency.
On display, you will find artifacts related to notable figures such as Booker T. Washington, Elizabeth Catlett, Frederick Douglass, Shirley Chisholm, Madame CJ Walker, and more. This exhibit invites you to engage with the triumphs, struggles, and enduring resilience of African Americans throughout history. It profoundly reflects on the unconquerable human spirit and the power of collective progress.
